Overlocker tips

I've had my overlocker for 3 months now and absolutely love it! It makes professional seams and makes sewing clothes faster. What's not to love!?

Here are my tips for using an overlocker;

- both seams are close together, I tend to miss bits with my overlocker and end up with a hole in my seem!
-don't let pins get anywhere near the shaft(!) of the machine, I broke the upper knife of mine by sewing over a pin. Amazon kindly replaced the whole machine (!!) but replacement knives are pricey.
- don't be scared! I had no idea what I was doing when I got my sewing machine and eventually you learn what bit does what and build confidence
- rethread it asap, don't put off doing it! It's the only scary part of having an overlocker and my machine has very good instructions to explain where the thread goes
- pull the thread tree up before sewing otherwise your threads will snap and you'll have to rethread it!
- have fun!!
